When you think of a powerful and fast vehicle, it's hard not to think about an Italian sports car like the Ferrari. As fast as that car is, it's not the most powerful and fastest when it comes to a mass-produced vehicle.

Rather, it's the 2020 Charger SRT Hellcat by Dodge that is now the 'most poweferul and fastest' mass-produced sedan in the world according to the company.

Dodge, which is owned by Chrysler which is owned by Fiat Chrysler FCAU , officially launched the car last week and said it was the latest muscle car that can hit 60 in just 3.6 seconds and top out at 196 mph.

The Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody has a 6.2-liter V-8 that uses a massive supercharger to deliver 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque.
Dodge says the car's engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic and can improve both performance and fuel economy.

Prcing for the 2020 Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody sedan has not been disclosed but the coupe version begins at $72,590. Customers will be able to place orders for the 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat this fall with deliveries expected to begin in early 2020.

Dodge “may only represent 3% of the industry, but it’s a big industry of 17 million cars,” said Tim Kiniskis, who heads the brand. “Our job is to continue to enable our brand to connect with its customers, to stand for something.”

“They say the proportion of cars sold will drop from 50% to 25% (compared with trucks and SUVs) by 2023,” he said. “Do we think we’ll be the last dinosaur standing? No.”
