The world has been patiently awaiting Disney DIS  to announce more news about its upcoming streaming service dubbed Disney+.

The company announced recently what the service would offer and at what cost.

Priced at $6.99 a month, Disney+ will include a boatload of family content, including Disney’s back catalog of movies, “Star Wars” films, Marvel movies and 30 seasons of “The Simpsons.”

The service also has a $69.99 annual subscription price.

According to Bob Iger, the company's CEO, the brand name Disney gives the service an edge over other rivals already.

“We’re designing a product that we want to be accessible to as many consumers as possible,” said Iger during the investor day presentation. “We just feel that Disney is loved by so many millions and millions of people around the world.”

Disney + will be launched on Nov. 12th of this year.

While Disney shares exploded last week on the news, Netflix shares sank. This doesn't mean that Netflix should worry. Atleast according to several analysts.
'We do not view Disney+ as a strong alternative to Netflix,' said SunTrust tech analyst Matthew Thornton.

“Bottom-line, Disney+ features family content, while Netflix offers a much broader range of content with the majority of the most-searched content on the platform.”

“We still do not view it as a major threat to Netflix subscriber numbers given Netflix’s quality & quantity of content, along with the global secular shift toward streaming,” said J.P. Morgan analyst Doug Anmuth.

Netflix recently announced that it will be raising its monthly prices on its most popular plan from $11 to $13.
