A multinational pharmaceutical company, Teva Pharmaceuticals Industries Limited TEVA , announced major changes in their organizational structure and leadership management to accomplish better commercial focus and drive value creation.

The new structure demands tactical alignment throughout their portfolio, across regions, leveraging scale, improving speed and providing proximity to the markets. The new structure is planned to be effective immediately.

The commercial business TEVA  will no longer consist of two separate international groups for generics and specialty medicines, whereas combine the two into one commercial organizations. They will operate in three regions: North America, Europe and Growth Markets. Each region will manage the entire portfolio and each region will be fully responsible for end-to-end profit and loss accountability.

Combining the generics and specialty groups will be a more efficient way to maximize ROI through more intense emphasis and productivity. A new marketing portfolio will be created to be accountable for supervising the actions ran between the three regions.

Teva’s TEVA  CEO and President, Kare Schultz commented, “Teva is taking decisive and immediate action to address external pressures and internal inefficiencies. Our new company structure will enable stronger alignment and integration between R&D, operations and commercial regions, allowing us to become a more agile, lean and profitable company.”

Teva Pharmaceuticals TEVA  is one of the leading global pharmaceutical companies in the world delivering high-quality healthcare solutions used to over 200 million patients every day. They are the world’s single largest generic medicine producer.

Share prices for Teva TEVA  reacted by 6.8% after the news was released to the public. Teva is currently trading at its lowest prices in over 5 years so hopefully this new structure and leadership will reshape the company and lead them to success.
